I love teaching. I am interested in finding the gifts that each child possesses and then helping them learn to use that gift to have more fun in life. I like to have fun when I teach; so I am always trying new things. My newest thing is teaching science on my farm. I have a huge garden and a farm full of animals. Learning to grow healthy food is my latest passion. It turns out that most kids like to raise food too. To raise food you have to know how to care for the thing that grows it. If it is a plant, you need to know how to keep the plant healthy and to figure out what is wrong and what to do about it if the plant is not doing well. This is fertile territory for kids. There is always something which needs doing on a farm. I keep a list and let kids choose from it for things to do. I hope soon to have a garden and farm on the school site.
I like to use the internet for students to expand their learning related to what we are doing in class.
