Everything below this point is a massive gully. The groundwater bleeds away in the form of a shallow stream. |
| This view is near the head of "Sand Canyon". The view is from the top of the terrace. The gash of the arroyo is visible in the distance. You can see how the terraces once formed a lovely, level fertile bottom to this canyon. |
| Here we are standing on the floor of the arroyo that is barely seen in the photo above. You can see the edge of the terrace above. This gives you a sense of how deep the arroyo is; how deeply the water table has been drained. |
