Postcards from Antarctica
Exciting news from our Penguin Nest! Our first chick hatched on Dec. 17th! Happy Birthday to "Buddy" (as the class named him). As part of Project Penguin, Yellow Reader students have designed a self addressed and postcard about penguins. As a class, I will send them to Antarctica and the scientists will mail them back from the U.S. research station near the penguin colony in Antarctica. Each card will have the unique and valuable "Antarctica” postmark. This year 25 lucky penguin postcard artists will also receive a Mr. Popper’s Penguins DVD starring Jim Carrey. To be able to participate in this activity, I am asking that each student bring in .50 cents to help me pay for the postage to and from Antarctica. Each student will receive their postcard mailed back to them to their home. The students are very excited to receive mail from Antarctica!20.12.2011. 18:01
