Lunch Program
In 2009, we started working with the Healthy Lunch and Lifestyle Project to provide healthy, affordable and environmentally conscious lunches to our students. This is a wonderful program that was started by Bridgette Brick-Wells, a Redding mom who was concerned about the health of our nation’s school children. The Healthy Lunch Program produces lunches based upon the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans published by the USDA and the Department of Health and Human Services. Lunches are made daily by the program’s Le Cordon Bleu-trained chefs from fresh, whole foods, packaged in reusable containers, and delivered to schools. All of the ingredients are organically and sustainably grown by local farmers. For more information about the Healthy Lunch and Lifestyle Project visit their website: (http://www.helpshasta.com)

We charge $3 per

We offer free, after-school care for children who get out of school before the bus leaves the school at 3:25. Bus transportation is free for field studies and field trips. The bus schedule is always available under Current Families > Bus Schedule
Project SHARE
We offer a free, after school program that runs until 6pm through a program called Project SHARE (Shasta Health, Academic and Recreation Enrichment). The program’s mission is to provide a safe, structured and caring after school environment that engages children in enrichment activities that positively affect their academic, social and emotional development. The main goals of Project SHARE are to:
- Provide a safe and fun place for students during after school hours
- Provide academic enrichment activities that increase student achievement
- Increase attendance
- Positively affect student behavior
- Provide homework assistance
- Offer recreational activities including art, sports, drama
These goals are accomplished through offerings that include academic interventions, tutoring and homework assistance; recreation and enrichments. All students at participating school sites are eligible to attend, regardless of parental economic status.
